DEADLINE FOR ADULT EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP THIS FRIDAY

As a volunteer for the Hendricks College Network, I wanted to make sure that this information was widely distributed.

DANVILLE, IN (July 26th, 2010) – Applications for local adults to apply for the $1,000 Adult Tourism and Hospitality Scholarship are due this Friday, July 30th. This program is being funded by the Hendricks County Convention and Visitors Bureau (HCCVB) and being managed by the Hendricks College Network.

The non-renewable scholarship is for adults 23 years of age or older and a resident of Hendricks County. Applicants must be attending an accredited 2-4 year Indiana institution and pursue a tourism/hospitality or business related field of study or if not pursuing a tourism/hospitality field of study, must currently be employed in the tourism industry. Programs that will be considered as tourism/hospitality include Hotel/Lodging Management, Restaurant, Food or Beverage Management, Culinary Training, Event Management, Travel Planning, Motorsports, Cultural Development, Sports Tourism and Food Production Training. Also, tourism industry employment includes lodging facilities, restaurants and visitor attractions. You can find more specific information in the application.

Completed applications need to be returned to the Avon Hendricks College Network location at 5250 East US Hwy. 36, Suite 1000-5, Avon between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:00pm across from Prestwick at Crossing either in person or by mail with a postmark date of July 30, 2010.
